| "I never knew there were so many Fax fans"
Were the words my 12 year old son said to me just before kick off. I'd already spotted him just looking around taking it all in. On the way out my youngest, who is 10, stated that it was the loudest game he had ever been to.
My two boys only real association with Halifax is me yet they have both become Fax fans true and proper over the last couple of years. I wanted to win for many reasons yesterday but one of them was for the boys, I want them to experience the sheer joy of winning and being part of that whole group hysteria. Sadly it wasn't to be but it will come.
Today I found myself a little emotional at times. Not because we lost - I have no problem there because we lost like men. I'm sad because yesterday was like the old days. A huge Fax following, the great atmosphere, the colour and excitement. the edge of the seat white knuckle ride.
We are one of the finest clubs in the world and we belong at the top of the pile. Super League is worse off without us
We have the box ticked now but we want our Fax back and that means more big days like yesterday because that's what will get the crowds coming back.
Yesterday wasn't the end ...... its only the beginning!

| It's nice to see a postive posting for once, ghostie. I too agree, yesterday was a splendid experience, one not even present in the '98 season and the early 90s when we had Preston, Austin et al. The last feeling I experienced like yesterday was the 80s in the Chris Anderson era, when ... despite whatever the result was ... we all just seemed relaxed and enjoyed the ride. I've never felt as confident about this club for a long long time. Well done to all those who have worked so hard to get the club on the up again, and long may it continue.

| I saw one bloke with a 1987 ski jacket - remember the ones - white half, blue half? He also had an old fashioned rattler - of the wooden variety. Great stuff.

| Lets hope people get buying season tickets this week. Shame we didn't win as it wouldve created a feel good factor which should've led to people buying season tickets. However I still feel good about our team and hope plenty of others do and get a season ticket bought.

| Splendid post ghost. That has made me feel better. I've been disconsolate since full time yesterday. But the whole experience was enjoyable, like nothing before. I've waited 20 years for it...and want more.
So I have my season ticket order and cashfax application ready to send... We do belong in the big time, yesterday made me realise it. It won't be 20 years between drinks again.

Yesterday wasn't the end ...... its only the beginning!'" This made me smile. All 3 of mine are girls and they, rather go shopping but they are sympathetic when we lose cos they know what it means to me. My youngest grandson gives me hope though he,s only 3 but one day he,ll play for my team. My son inlaw used to but like I said to him he should have played for Wigan.
Chuffed for you.Be proud of your lads I,m sure you are.

Top post mate.
I felt for my lad as I have had the pleasure of seeing us win trophies, he hasn't - YET.
As you say it will come.

| I wasnt at the game as a little too far away but I can relate to everything in Scratchin's post.
When I started following Fax in the late 70's it was the atmosphere and the group fever which really hooked me. Those were up and down times, but still there was raw emotion in the crowd at every game. I have to say that died off a lot when SL took a hold and only seems to be coming back now. Before I left for Aus I saw it reappear on and off at a few games, but with the entertainment on offer now you would have to be dead not to get drawn in. Its the hardcore of support that reignite this emotion and you lot need to take a great deal of credit for this.
Deep down I get a feeling the final, irrespective of the result will draw in a lot more people next season. Dont be surprised if we are around the 3k average attendance next year on the back of this and with the signings. I really do believe that big Stan will be a helluva draw card next year. Despite a poop weekend (both Fax and Parra losing) it feels great to be a Fax fan !

To be fair Tony I think I have only ever made one negative post and I pretty much retracted that anyway once I'd calmed down. I admit that it was a major blow out though!
You're right - sunday was like the old days (80's) which was when many of us on here fell in love with Fax. Sunday should be the start of the next generation. Some great photos on the worrier website with kids wearing the colours and having a great time following Fax. Combine this with a better squad next year, completed ground and the clubs community work and the future is bright. Or to coin a phrase "The future is blue & white"
