| We will see.
I think Axiom has already committed too much money towards the project for them simply to walk away. But time will tell.

| We have heard all his before, and it's not Castleford stadiuim and castleford have not been given the green light, cannot see Axium building anything yet with no deal brexit car crash about to happen and stadium will probably be last thing to get built, they will want paying tenants earning them money first.

Agreed, Brexit is certainly causing uncertainty. But I still don’t see Axiom just walking away after such an investment.
You’re right in that it’s not Cas who have been given the “green light”, and I’m not sure that’s the term I’d use either.
It will, however, if built, be Castleford’s stadium and the club will own the freehold. And it won’t be the last thing built, if things stay as planned. But they might not.
Believe me, I’ve had enough of hearing about a new ground. I remember plans from the 1990s so I won’t believe it until a game actually kicks off there.
As you say, we’ve heard it all before.

The agreement to let Axiom build the retail park requires that the stadium is completed and handed over BEFORE any of the retail units can open.

At some point they would have decided enough is enough and likely looked to recoup some of their spend by selling the land on, most likely to a house builder. Someone has authorised that amount of money to be spent (much more than they would have budgeted for to reach this stage I'd imagine) and I suspect has had a squeaky bum for some time now. Or, one or more of the retailers signed up early would have said enough is enough and pulled out. The M&S store is part of their strategic plan that they want in place by 2021-2 and I'd be very surprised if they weren't already looking at alternatives if the delay went on too much longer. One fly in the ointment may be that build (labour and raw materials) costs will have risen, and may rise even more significantly in the next few months, since the project was first costed.

I would like to see it happen as I would all the clubs persuing new or ground redevelopments, and as Cas are my local team( but I don't support them) it's a boost for everyone in the area, but It would be optimistic if they were in a new stadium this side of 2025.

It's not a boost for the local town centres which will get another nail in their coffin when/if this goes ahead.

Similar thing with Newco at wakey, but they just said not building it now, and just said sod off. Honestly cannot see it ever getting built and if it does pretty sure it will not be the freebie Cas think it will be.
