| Bit of a theme on the Sandow & Rangi Chase thread so thought it might be worth looking at in its own thread.
Looking at the ins & outs for the past two years:
2014 Out (from 2013 squad)
1. Morley
2. Carvell
3. Cooper
4. McCarthy
5. Rhys Williams
6. Brett Hodgson
7. Lee Briers
2014 Ins
1. Asotasi
2. England
3. Russell
4. Evans
5. Penny
I have ordered the players leaving and joining specifically as the ins would have been direct replacements for the outs I believe in terms of value. (Asotasi & England as a pair replacing Morley & Carvell - obviously Carvell was on more than England, Asotasi on more than Morley, but as a pair broadly similar). Cap space was also found to give Hill another deserved increase. The two glaring leavers there were Hodgson & Briers, not replaced in salary cap terms IMO.
2015 Outs (From 2014 squad)
1. Mick Monas
2. Waterhouse
3. Chris Riley
4. Higham
5. Glenn Riley
6. Paul Wood
2015 Ins
1. Clark
2. Sims
3. Wheeler
4. Dwyer
5. Ormsby
6. Sandow
Dwyer coming back in would be a big drop in cap value vs Higham, so assume the remainder was used to increase Ratch & Currie contracts at the end of '14 and mid ' 15 respectively. Again the order of in and outs in cap terms seems to match for me Clark for Monas, Sims for Waterhouse etc etc. Sandow coming in for a rumoured £250k (Obviously that isn't an official figure) would probably take up Hodgson & Briers vacated cap space from the 2013 squad, along with probably Paul Wood?
2016 Outs (From 2015 squad)
1. Myler
2. Bridge
3. Asotasi
2016 ins
1. Gidley
2. Lineham
So far Asotasi has not been replaced in cap terms for me. If he is on £175k per year, or close to, we may well have space for a marquee player, despite convincing myself it was unthinkable a matter of days a go. Am I getting overexcited at the prospect of bringing in a marquee forward to boost the pack or does the above make rational sense?

| Don't forget, things don't just stand still with incumbent players either though. Currie new contract etc.

| Big Roy may yet have is option looked at. Either way. A prop or two must be priority one!

Indeed, my assumption was that the difference in cap value between Higham & Dwyer would have allowed the club to increase Currie's new contract, Paul Wood leaving would help fund, Ratchfords new contract. Similarly, a player like Westwood may have a contract that is stepping down in cap value year on year, so he gets paid less for his 2016 season than he has for his 2015 season.
We'll never know the exact ins and outs, but the fact remains we never replaced Briers & Hodgson, my initial thinking was that Sandow would take Asotasi's place on the cap, now I'm thinking Sandow takes on Briers & Hodgsons place, with Asotasi's space still to be covered...?
I ignored Jack Hughes as until we announce it its just more conjecture, plus we don't know who else will leave to potentially make way, GOB for instance..?

If such an option exists, I and most people would be amazed if that was to happen.

| i think we still have the marquee signing yet to come... Some big salaries have left over the last few seasons.. and there has been no mention that Sandow is the marquee player.
Infact... we are fitting him in under this years cap space.. so he cant be.

I agree Alffi, but, there has been a spring in Roy's step in recent games.
Whether that is due to him being so poor any sign of effort or interest is magnified or it's that he's trying to work another year, or he can see already see himself sitting in the Quanta Lounge at Ringway Airport....I hope it's the latter

| I think only me listens to local radio sometimes.
TS said in an interview, the very same that he confirmed the clubs approach on Sandow, that we have an option to extend Roy's contract.

| Before passing comment about salary cap and marquee and how much room we have, where can we find the value and details of the players contracts listed ?
