Having read the article I'm a little confused. He's joining the back room staff and will 'look at other options in due course' in regards to playing; does this mean when he's fully recovered he will play again, but for someone else? What's the likelihood of him playing for us again?

thats a bloody shame, one of the most underated players in this league over the last 5 years.

How can he continue to play elsewhere and yet be part of our backroom staff....!!!
I like Grix but this sounds odd and doesn't appear to be a sensible set up ...... in a set up that is already a bit broken...!!


I'm glad he's been awarded a testimonial though anyone that missed all three of our Wembley wins through injury deserves some kind recognition...

Reading between the lines, i reckon his leg is that bad it's still gonna need working on, if he's at the club in some made up role, we can pay him a wage and still continue to help him with rehab. And he's not under pressure to try and find himself a club for next year.

I was looking forward to a much strengthened pack defensively next year with Grix an integral part of it. Makes the Hughes signing much more understandable now - our best pack can be very strong defensively - Hill, Clark, Sims/Dodds, Westwood, Hughes/Currie, Harrison, but still not that much going forward. Backs need to sort our their defence though - With Sandow in for Myler, that's a big net deficit and Lineham will not improve things. Defensively Ratch, Penny, Atkins, Wheeler, Lineham, Gidley, Sandow is horrific and it's not good enough offensively to justify it. Maybe Ormsby and Evans would add some steel but not much. Feeling underwhelmed.
