Not so sure about that. Yes they haven’t been getting their value out of him for a couple of years now, but they are essentially going back on a promise they made to him about terms and conditions - he was supposed to have been promised a salary uplift from 2020.

I’d imagine the morale round the place isn’t great anyway, but to know the club you play for are going back on promises made to its players - it’s captain and senior player of 11 years at that, surely won’t do much good to the atmosphere over there, or do them many favours reputation wise in the player market.

Short term gain for Leeds but reputationally damaging. Probably not great work by KW’s agent if it wasn’t in writing and in enforceable terms.

I don't think he's lost it at all. I've said for a few years now he's going off the boil and I personally think his heart is no longer in Leeds. A change of scenery at another club like Saints, Wigan or Wire would see him back to where he was IMO.

And as we are just about to say goodbye to Goodwin & Atkins and Burrell is off the cap for 2020, Watkins would be a good acquisition for me. Burrell will not be the we are looking for this year or next I don't think, It'll take time for him to adapt.

I am not one who is going to declare him finished based on what I see on Sky, but he definitely hasn't looked like he has fully recovered based on what I have seen this season.

There is potentially a very good signing there for someone, but whoever it isn't shouldn't skimp on the medical.
