What’s peoples thoughts on this I heard a few years back we were interested I don’t think he would of added anything to are squad for this year

I want to know what that fella from Leeds who comes on here every time we make a signing and criticises it thinks.

Interesting. Happen we'll be able to judge whether we missed out or not, when we tried to sign him some while ago.

Surely,he must be nearly as old as Stanley Gene when he retired.

It will be interesting to see what the years in the other code have done to him. He was electric when he was at Saints but that is a long time ago now. But as I said on the Leeds forum, it's a low-risk signing for them, just as Burrell was for us.

Eastmond will be on 50% then 75% cap rate for first 2 yrs as a returning player (over 5 yrs out of RL), whilst Burrell was 0% then 50% as a 'talent pool' RL player (having not played pro RL before).

So Burrell was much lower risk (in terms of impact to salary cap).

Always rated Eastmond as a real attacking threat. I bet he'll still be a handful at times but obviously he will have lost some pace. My concern would be his durability as I reckon he has had a few injuries over the years. Stanley Gene he is not.

TBH i was surprised to read he is still only 31....he seems to have been around a long time.

Turns out it made zero difference. Had added nothing and we won nothing.

Eastmond will actually be a young 31 too as he's missed so much through injury.....
Big gamble by us but we were desperate abs without a fit half for the season. Walker out fir season too, we had to do something.
Personally I think we'll see flashes of brilliance, but we'll be lucky to get 10 games out of him.
Signing generated plenty of interest though....
