Assume London don't fold. At end of 2014 season you would have 2 relegated from SL plus Toulouse into SL2.

In order to end up with 12 in SL2 for 2015 season there will have to be 5.....yes 5 clubs relegated from the championship at the end of 2014 with no promotion from CH1.

If they decide they have to promote one club from ch1 to sl2 then 6 champ clubs are for the chop next season. Have the champ chairmen realised this?

They're aiming higher than that Harold - the big funding from the RFL would appear to be going to those finishing 1st/2nd.

I don't see Leigh being at huge risk here...but with 6 teams potentially affected, you would want to be in the Top 3 at all times just to give you that buffer. It wouldn't be a surprise to see one club in the 6 that wouldn't have been expected.

If NW Crusaders get promoted, it will be interesting to see how they shape up. I would think that they might be a bit more competitive than the 2 relegated clubs from this season.

Realistically, there will be some clubs for whom it will not be worth busting a gut and risk going bankrupt because they have little chance of avoiding relegation...of course every club will think that description does not apply to them!

York have already been told that one club will be promoted from CH1 at the end of 2014. So thats positions 9-14 relegated from the championship at the end of 2014!!

That should keep everyone 'interested' next season, especially if 1 - 8 are in the play-offs again!

It's not been decided yet how many will be automatically relegated or promoted. There may be some kind of play off yet although it was said the bottom two will definitely go down.

York were told straight promotion or a play-off that bit hadn't been decided. So I assume The winners of Ch1 plus bottom 5 of the championship in a 6 team playoff for the right to be in SL2?
