What was it as well about giving LISA members a shortlist of these young players and letting members decide which to choose? That'll be a good LISA meeting if we could get Rowley & the players available there to say why we should pick them.

I was rambling a bit when I explained it last night but in a nutshell the proposal to LISA which was accepted by the committee and members was as follows:

For the usual annual investment LISA as normal will fund the contract of a player of choice which hopefully will be the next new signing that we secure.

In addition to this and as an incentive to gain more members and raise more funds for every 6k over and above the usual annual figure LISA can raise the board will match the funding with 6k of our own and promote an already part time contracted U20s player of LISA choice to the FT first team environment and squad. Paul and Derek will put forward the list of candidates who they would like to bring in to the first team FT squad and in confidence give the reasons why so LISA members subject to the funds being raised can play a vital role in the promotion and further development of the clubs young players in addition to what they already do.

It was great to see a full room last night and there seemed to be a real interest in helping Lynda and the committee really move things forward at pace with many new faces taking forms away and some new members even signing up on the night. Talking to a few members after the meeting there seemed a real willingness to help and get involved in fund raising events and I have a good feeling that the next 12 months will really see LISA kick on to even greater things.

For those that aren't aware every single penny of LISA money goes directly to the playing budget and to a playing contract so no better way for anyone wishing to do that little bit extra to make a direct impact in the on field success of the club they love.

Anyone readying this please join LISA and get behind the guys as "We are all in this together" remember and unlike in the past when the money has saved the club LISA money can now develop the club and play a part I'm taking it to the next level.

LISA members also get opportunity to meet Paul directors and players and Speak to them. So well worth being a member , you also get discount on awAy travel too

...and a suggestion to existing members would be that if you can afford it think about upping your monthly contribution by a fiver.

... and a suggestion (again) that LISA members don't get a discount on away travel. They are paying £5 a month membership and getting £2 back - why???

LISA discounts should be at shops etc. not from LISA money. The system can also be easily abused when booking the coach so LISA are in fact LOSING an amount of money on away trips.
We also have a whip round for the driver even on short journeys - this should go to LISA not a guy who is getting paid for doing his job by his employers. Just seams pointless begging for money then letting it slip through our fingers at the same time






(It would also make it easier for Gill to just have one price).

Thanks Derek , yes that's also an option and you would be surprised how many pay more and how many have more then one member in an household.
So anyone upping their contribution will count as well in our mission.

Great initiative. I personally can't afford anything else right now but I'm just pleased these kinds of things are going on. Well done to all involved.

Lisa membership has been £5.00 a monthe since its inception.
Why not increase it by £1 a month to £6.00?( a 20% increase)

Spot on Ivan. I have said before no LISA member WANTS or joins LISA just to get £1 back off coach travel to away games. This reduction is just daft.

OR make LISA travel LISA members only, win win then.

It makes no difference except we make more money as I price the coach on the member price so non members paying full price mean s we make money for Lisa if coach is full every week . If not full it makes up r
