| Phil Wilkinson has tweeted that Prescott requires back surgery and will be out for 12 weeks. Usually a very reliable source and the story is due to hit WEP.
Looking like our injury list is now Prescott, Sam, Lauaki, Hansen, Tuson and Gelling. Should still have enough to beat London but we really need to be looking bringing someone in. Prescott seems to be made of glass and i personally cant see him being a successful regular Super League player. His body just isnt up to it.

| I think Prescott himself must be starting to give some serious though to calling it quits. He simply can't stay clear of injury and it's been an issue since he first broke through at Wigan. When a lad of 25 ish is having to do his own special warm up before games like he's done in the past it's not a good sign for his long term future.
The good thing from his point of view is that he's a clever lad with good qualifications to fall back on but it must be heartbreaking for him.

| Some bloke called Fielden seems to be injury free at the moment in Huddersfield.

Yep. If only Shaun Wane had had your crystal ball.

We shall see if he lasts the season, if so you have made a fair comment. If not, its just wishful thinking, or another excuse to snipe at Wane...
Should have added, all the best to Prescott, hope he is fit and well soon...

I have said for some time it was a mistake to let Fielden go simply because of the inexperienced side we have. Losing one of our more experienced players for 12 weeks if PW is correct just reinforces my already held opinion it was a mistake. No crystal ball needed for any of that.

Indeed. He has not had much luck this past few seasons.
As to "another swipe at Wane", as I said in reply to Cruncher me saying we should have kept Fielden is nothing new. As to him not lasting the season due to a recurrence of his old injury, Wane is the one who would need a crystal ball for that.

You've not been proved right yet.
Prescott is a waste of space IMO - he's always injured and I suspect his days are numbered at Wigan, but Fielden, thanks to his record of long-term, serious injuries, will need to put in a full season to convince me he would have been worth another punt.

Any relation to the Fielden who had 6 and a half mostly average or awol seasons at Wigan on top dollar?

Fielden had been very injury prone and even when he was on he was fairly mediocre, plus he's past his peak. I'm glad that his move has helped him find form and I hope he stays injury free but I think it was the right decision. We've yet to see the best of Taylor too who came highly rated and perhaps wouldn't have signed if Fielden had stayed. For me Lauaki was the mistake, surely there were better options than him

Is this the same Phil Wilkinson that said Wigan were signing Paul Wood? I'm not being funny but its his job to know what's going on inside the club. All that aside, I like Prescott as he is a very good forward. The break could do him good for you for the proper games of the season.
