Yeah I wouldn't have done that - it's in bad taste.

I worked in education in Wigan in 2014 and remember visiting primary schools the week after the GF. I saw two separate incidents of children imitating Ben Flower's punch - one 8 year old and one 7 year old.

Obviously there were significant repercussions for the Saints player as well.

Fair play. I’m staggered that someone at Wigan sanctioned this and signed it off. People forget that Hohaia retired early due to concussion and to celebrate such a thuggish act is in poor taste. I expected way more from Wigan who at times have been classy with various initiatives.

The “Klonk” narrative that accompanies it makes it even worse. Quite why they would celebrate a losing GF is beyond me.

I actually think it’s a disgrace and I’d be very surprised if they don’t receive an official complaint from Saints and end up apologising and editing the display.

Moreover as a Sport we are trying to introduce ways of reducing concussion and then this…. Unbelievable

It’s part of the clubs history as is the pic of Colin Tyrer being held up by two trainers after being poleaxed at Wembley. People need to get a life they really do.

Love the poster but wouldn’t have included the flower thing, causing another human a brain injury shouldn’t be celebrated.

I wouldn't have had it in personally but it is a big talking point in our SL history even though it's not for the right reasons. He should have painted on the pathetic assault attempt that Hoihia tried to do on Flower before he got his @rse handed to him. As much as Saints will forever whine about it, Hoihia shouldn't have tried to attack him in the first place. I might start a thread every so often about how out of order Fogerty and Nickle were but we aren't that sad, bitter and jealous, i mean, St Helens, hardly anything to be jealous about really is there. We are top the top dogs and they know it. Redvee is great today.

It will get taken down because the Saints fans will cry and whinge about it forever if they don't. It wouldn't be St Helens without having something to moan about would it? I'd think a town consisting of areas like Parr have seen worse things in their lives than a caricature in a private building in Wigan but we live in an age where people can't go to bed without being offended by something in their day. Wokies creep amongst us all day, i just wish they would wear T-shirts that say 'I am offended by everything' so the normal rational folk can avoid them.
