I suppose the last 2 games have encapsulated the season as a whole, very good at times, to very poor. This group just don't seem to be able to back up a good performance, which is slightly worrying. I can only think it's an attitude, mental thing, which is where the coaching staff come into play? I would say generally our better performances this season have come against teams that have finished above us, which means it's not a fitness, ability thing. Obviously I don't expect to win every week, but from this group of players I would expect a standard of performance which is more consistent......and I suppose that is the challenge now for the rest of this year and beyond, to deliver more consistent week to week performances, which in turn will hopefully bring a better win/loss ratio. If someone had said after 23 games, we would have only won 2 more games than HKR, I would have been disappointed with that, no disrespect to them at all. We have been pretty fortunate with injuries, so 10 wins would have been an absolute minimum requirement.

Agree, especially as these words more of less have just been used by Chester who i actually like & respect.
However, I have seen Catalans coach & Hud's coach say, mindset is the thing that has to change, they have done this, the players have said so. Also fitness ! We are not fit enough against the top 4 teams & these two latter teams that have shown our lack of application.
We do not lack ability, we lack matching them !
May be we need a new fitness coach to freshen up things along with the discipline to carry out our next improvement phase ?

If you keep dropping the ball and giving soft ball on 6th tackle you have more work to do.

Hi pop tart, in reply to you i think that's why we need to break the cycle of what s happened every year, the latter two teams i spoke of didn't keep dropping the ball etc, their minds set improved & fitness which increased their positivity which increased their execution !
Even Chester says he needs to look at things especially on 5 day turn arounds, do the top four teams do what you have said - as consistent as us ?

How dare anyone on here question chester and his coaching team....in my opinion now we have signed arona i dont see where we are gonna greatly improve the team/squad thats not a dig at arona hes great but where everyone elae is improving we wont be.we will be signing george king and other than hirst he wont improve things.one area we can improve is coaching like hudds have.ill get shot and accused for this but the current coaching staff aint good enough.look at hudds 17 players and look at wakeys pound for pound i honestly think we where better/stronger but there simply better coached

The 5 day turn around thing from Chester i assume is about the type of training you do leading up to the game......i should think mental peparation too.

But I haven't seen you tell us what Chester isn't doing right, you just say he is rubbish.

Fortunately Shudds have the luxury of being able to chop and change with ease.
With the signing of Arona, there's no need for King.
Kopczak would be a great addition to our forwards and can't see where else we need to improve position wise.

For me kopczak would be massive signing and would improve our front row which i belive is at times weak id also we need a 6 or 7 to put pressure on miller and hampshire

We need to sign Hampshire up for next season, so if this doesn't happen, then yes, this will be a position we need to strengthen but if Hampshire does re sign, the back up option is going to be someone of the calibre of Jordan Lilley, because anyone higher profile, isn't going to play second fiddle.

Hampshire will be a wakey player next year and its up to him ots his first time at a sl club he gonna be first choice hb but with finn departure we will need back.personnoly dont like lilly but this is my worry are we gonna improve squad wise
