Could be just speculation as Wigan admitted last week they are skint but Phil Wilkinson does generally have the ear of those at Wigan. He's not often far off the mark with his info.

For all the players they have access to and would want to join them, they pick a stand off from a team struggling at the bottom of the table who is also under contract.
