There are various messages suggesting that Senior was suprised to say the least at todays announcement and is looking to get out of his 2012 Crusaders contract.

Does anyone else out there think that it would be worth taking a chance on him for a 1yr deal?

I would HATE to see him in a Cas shirt. He's old, slow and a thug.

With Arundal and Thompson impressing, I'd hate us to put a 35 year old thug in the way of their development.

He is still a big strong unit so I was thinking 2nd row, but fair comment, added to which I guess his current injury status would always be a risk !!!

I could see him ending up at Wakey, I seem to recall him playing under Kear at Sheffield. Kear could perhaps use him to bring some of their youngsters through.

Yup. That's when my opinion of him was formed. 1998 Cup QF Cas v Sheffield when he flattened Mather, the ref (Connolly I think) let him stay on and he went on to score the two tries that sank us that day.

Not Headingley, it was down the lane. I looked it up on youtube, and surprisingly it's not there. I know the game was televised because I seem to remember Jonathan Davies saying that he "should've been sent off for that." I also remember the atmosphere just after that incident was so heavy on the pitch you could have cut it with a knife. I was expecting war to break out.

We'd beaten Leeds at Leeds (last minute of the game, Andy Schick scoring a try off the last kick by a certain Mr. Vowles) and Bradford at home (I think Stevie McNamara missed an easy kick that day, I remember it being really windy and it may have been Viva Brad holding the ball for (Maloneys?) place kicks) so we were up for a decent cup run, only to be taken out by Sheffield. Senior got a ban and it ended so he could appear in the final (which they went on to win!)

Edit... weren't all of those games on the box? Has anyone got them on video? I'd quite like to see them again
