Does anyone think we should get one of those crowd funding jobbies going for some new bulbs for the floodlights. ???

Something needs doing about it.

Given our current position, I guess the need for top quality floodlighting isn’t that great for 3rd tier rugby.

I've seen a few people saying they are bad. Considering the next home Friendly is a Friday night game, this surely needs sorting before then? I'm planning on attending that, but if I can't see the game I'll be in the ticket office asking for my money back afterwards.

They're not that bad but they're certainly not great. Only five working bulbs in two of them. I wouldn't fancy catching a bomb in that light.

Can we get some bulbs on loan?

I mean, we don't need them for long; only about two hours every fortnight and that is on a scale which will quickly be sliding down until our need is no longer there. Surely some 'cash rich' SL club has replaced some of their bulbs due to them being,'not quite as bright as they used to be', which would serve us better than our current black ones, which don't appear to emit any light at all.

Do we have any evening games at Easter though, when the SL club are likely to want the bulbs back just in case their existing ones get broken?

Given that 2 of our home league games are on a friday night and the Toronto game in a couple of weeks then it really does need sorting.
Surely though its for the RFL to fork out not us?

Don't worry, I've heard the board were looking at getting on board some of the bulbs used at the World Cup.

The ground standard requirements are a lot lower in League 1, even compared with Championship.

In the Championship we had a requirement of 300lux with ability to increase for broadcast reasons. Yet in League one they must be "fit to play under". This is an extraordinary statement to make as who determines a facility is fit to play under.

We are currently working with a potential new football club who will, if successful enter at National Tier 7 level and they have a requirement of 300lux with a variance of no more than 25%!!!

Essentially a team in League 1 could potentially play in a public park at a push... utterly ridiculous!!!

Just needs another 10-12 more bulbs fitting. No idea how expensive they are but it was too dark at times on Sunday. We won thanks to their fullback misjudging a bomb, probably not helped by the light. That could easily have happened to us.
