Halifax RLFC can confirm that our Away Game with Toronto Wolfpack will not take place in Canada as scheduled.

We are currently in discussions with the RFL and Toronto to come up with a solution within England.

We appreciate that this may come as a disappointment to some Fax Fans who were excited about the prospect of a trip across the Atlantic but this has not been our decision to make.
We will update you as soon as the alternative is clarified. The club will be making no further comment at this time.

Did you miss the press releases where TWP said that they couldn't play at their own ground for good reasons. Did you miss that they also said they were looking for alternative viable solutions to get the game played in Toronto? No suitable alternatives have been found.

So what's the next best solution? Play the game in England. So that's what TWP have done.

Hopefully you can get your head around this, as it's not difficult to grasp.

Indeed, not many grounds in Canada is there ?
There are ample stadiums in Southern Ontario where this could have taken place

They will end up being a UK based outfit with one or two 'on the road' games back 'home'

But probably still miles in front of Leigh when franchising rears it’s head again.
