I'd consider it is Clarke.

I know this is a tired old rumour at this point, but I heard from a pie that we have paid a record fee for Williams and he will be on £300k a year. Not looking to debate this, I know a lot of users on here are a bit sensitive about rumours. Just passing on what I heard.

In terms of an existing player, I am not sure any would be considered for 'marquee player' unless they were getting a good offer elsewhere and we wanted to keep them. I'd make an exception for Hill, as he has propped (if you'll pardon the pun) the team up for a long time.

Isn't Williams is a free agent at the end of this season? Although I heard Williams is to be a Wire...I also believe your pie contact is talking Wire form.

I think you'll find that we don;t have a 'marquee player' this year. Don't forget Sandow was supposed to be coming back until just before the season started, and everyone's contract for 2017 would have been signed beforehand, also.

The first post I put up when I hear Sandow had gone AWOL was something like 'that doesn't surprise me, now let's tie Clark down with a big contract'.
I guess £30k per year on his contract would see every one off. We may have paid more, don't know myself. Just a surmise.

Quite the difference between the biggest earner at club and the "marquee" player.
Clark, should, be the highest earner at the club, is he the designated Marquee player? It must be quite a juggling act as the club could sign someone who has a wage £1 higher for next year and suddenly Daryl's wage is a huge obstacle balancing the books.
I would guess he is our MP, but there will be another next year and Clark's wage will mean Blythe will move on.
