hope you are right but it may make sense for the club to release statement confirming clubs long term plan and ambitions are still in place.
i would like to know if we are still going to spend the same amount on new players etc.

Why just to stop stupid rumours? they would have to issue a statement every week.

To be honest Fred, I think the club should consider making a statement soon about our future plans and ambitions. There are bound to be rumours about players leaving, AT leaving, Millward leaving etc. that is natural. But I think as soon as possible something should be announced, not just to stop rumours, but as damage limitation. We have had two disastrous seasons from the point of view of standard of rugby. No one can say they have enjoyed this season, apart from 1 or 2 matches, in real terms not much of an improvement on last season, which must be one of the clubs worst seasons in it's entire history. Everyone now is convinced Widnes will be promoted, leaving us in Division One for the foreseeable future. All of this is the fans view, based on rumour and a little knowledge and in some cases common sense. It would be nice to get the clubs view on how they think we have progressed, where they think we are going (up or down!) and what plans they have in place. A lot of people are going to need a lot of persuading to buy a season ticket for next year. The sooner that persuading starts the better, and the less rumours will be doing the rounds.
