| I see that during the period that Quins are supposed to be repairing the pitch at The Stoop (and we go on the road) they have decided to host a 7’s series evening. Interesting!

Even though Les has made an error, I'm still not convinced that the club are telling us the truth over this one.

And unlike in the past, where we've ended up in Wales or Leicester, both games are in the South East (one of 'em is actually in London!)

Could the pich repairs possibly be a small red herring or just running on a tight schedule?
LB v FC Sunday 6th May Leyton Orient
RU Prem Semi Final Sat 12th May Stoop
Amlin Cup Final Friday 18th May Stoop
LB v Bulls Sunday 20th May Gillingham
Will be interesting if we get a home cup draw over the week end of 28th April
Disappointing we could not arrange to play at Orient or Gillingham on a Saturday in June or early July, when presumably their grounds will be sitting idle

| On the subject of on the road games, The Orient game is being played on the Sunday 06th May, due to the fact of our last Home game of the season, is on the Saturday 05th, against the Mighty Rochdale. I have asked GM for 5 minutes of his time on this, I still hope to advise the club on taking the game to Orient, having cost me two wives, four jobs and £20,000 a year following them since 1973, i do know my way round the gaff. Will Gladly take GM on a day visit to witness to matchday at O's, i will even pay for him, so he knows what its like etc.
The stewards at our club are the worst in the country, brain dead and ready to throw anyone out, stand up or shout at your peril, they are also the bar stewards of W*st H*m. They will be having kittens at the thought of everyone mixing and shouting and swearing and being able to walk around. i hope they relax the beer rule for the day, you cannot watch football and drink beer etc, though you can hide down stairs and drink, though just plastic. mega priced, as well.
The supporters club is excellent at Orient, real good people who work on matchdays, real credit to the club now, plenty of history and CAMRA recommed and hold various festival throughout year, though, i have been told that they will have another pre-booked function on the evening, after game.
Will this game drag people to watch, it has caught a few minds though from O's fans, the area is very devoid of pubs, though nearer time, i will post SP for where to go etc, have a plan etc.
You cannot walk around the ground, has four seperate stands etc, so hope this may change, the good fun though, nice park next door, we can all go and join the 100+ daily polish drinkers in the park and have some fun, even a band stand in middle for the northern folk..............
Don't get me started on how bad Gillinghams ground is and its lack of area facilities, though its only a short walk from the station, to escape later for better time out etc.
Like the idea of games on the road, but they also have to have the ability to get people interested in the game, our way, the day out is good at Stoop, but will we be able to offer the same at other venues,

| Hi Orientwestsider,
As you are someone who obviously is close to the action at Orient what are the fans view on what the O's and Barry Hearn trying to do now. Is it not possible to stay at Brisbane Rd. increase the capacity and the Broncos buy a share of the ground? or is B Hearn confident he/we can get something from the Olympic 'legacy'?

| Big problem with Orient is our tag "Small Club" and our owner, to clear our debts we sold our asset, the ground to the chairman and his company, Matchroom, we will soon be paying them rent on our own ground etc, he did save the club all those years ago, but inbetween, we have a tower block on each corner and no real room to expand, three newish stands though, and the one original main stand etc, what would we be buying into etc
If anyone came in to buy Orient, you are just buying the name and the players, nothing else...The freehold id the most important thing, not sure how much rent O's will be paying, but it is possible that eventually the O's would could be faced with finding a cheaper place etc.
Matchroom owns the place, the ground has been renamed the "The Matchroom Stadium", I actually wrote a letter to DH & broncos a few weeks ago with an idea.
The actual name of the Orient Ground is Brisbane Road, could we not get some money or what from the Brisbane Broncos or Aussie Government to market this, some of the adjacent roads are also named after Aussie cities and towns etc,
Would love the place to be taken over as a legacy to RL, Orient and London Broncos stadium even, who cares, the asset value alone would be great for the club, though not an ideal stadium for RL, quite easy to adapt.
Most Orient fans older people, who fell in love with the club during there day etc, no real O's fans are coming through, the local area is not a place where the locals want to watch us, they all support legia Warsaw and real madrid and barcelona, even seem a staff with a man U shirt on, classic really, also dammm expensive to watch us on individual basis, £23/25 on the day, too much to attract floaters etc, you can go watch Fulham or West Ham for less.
I do not critisize Barry Hearn, he is a business man, but we need someone with more of a football heart to take us further down the road now, our boss has Darts, Poker, big fishing, and about ten other things he is more worried about.
Lets see what happens, behind the closed doors

| I think we need to have a share of the Freehold for our own security. Don't think a Max attendance of 9,271 satisfies the franchise criteria and with no room for expansion it looks a no-go. Pity. Can only hope for something from the Olympics fire sale.

| Any talk of buying anything is stupid when our owner has said he is giving it 3 years and then retiring.
