am i right in saying that if we come 1st we play on friday and if we come 2nd we play on saturday in the first round of the play off games

i think it all depends on when wigan athletic have a home game.

Wigan Athletic are away at Man City. It will also depend if Catalan get a home tie, as that will definitely be played on Saturday if they do.

Hope we come 2nd then because i cant make the Friday night

Saints on Friday will do for me.

Saturday is definitely better for me. Stuck in Larndon until 3.30pm on the Friday.

Assuming we finish second ... if we beat Saints do they get a second chance? Would assume that we do since we have finished in the top two?

they do, the move onto week 2 and play one of the teams in the 5/6/7/8th spot, whereas we would move on to week 3

If you look on the regular league rounds as fighting for top seed in the comp then the main adavntage is the 2 home games. If as expected 1 beats 4 and 2 beats 3 then 3 & 4 get another opportunity. The final could end up being between 2 teams that have already lost a game and by the same token you could miss out on the final by losing 1 play off game and having nothing more than home advantage as the reward for being a top seeded team.

With it now looking like we will finish second, does anybody know the play off dates? Wigan v Saints - will this be on Friday 16th September?
