League Express has been sh*te for the past decade or so. All it does is recap the past weeks news. If and when I read it, it's for free in Tesco's.

The fact that Schofield has been given a column shows how desperate the paper has become. He certainly hasn't been brought on board for his objective views now has he.

And well I'm at it, the fact that it's published here in Yorkshire clearly shows. The coverage of the Lancashire clubs pales into insignificance when compared against it's coverage of the white rose county.

League Weekly is a far better read, with 3 or 4 columnists who always offer good value, one in particular isn't afraid of offering criticism, which is rare in the goldfish bowl which is British RL.

I have not read it for ages mainly due to the fact that the only place in Preston that sold it was Wh Smith and they stopped selling it. Does Stevo still write in it?

League Weekly is a miles better publication.

Forty-20 is the best rugby league publication by a country mile.

League Express has been going downhill for a while. That Ian Sadler is started to believe in his own inflated Ego, he now says Lewis is doing an excellent job in promoting international rugby league.

To be fair he is. It's domestically that I'm worried about.

Why do people have this stupid hate for Gary Schofield?

Yes he is opinionated but so what? People read messageboards to read outrageous opinions of anonymous people who have never played the game, what's wrong with reading some strong opinions from one of the greats of the game?

A lot of Schoey's opinions are in tune with the average RL fan. It always amuses me that on these messageboards you get people saying there's too many overseas players in the game, various players in the England team are overrated, we need to have more flair in the game instead of just being mechanical, which is the type of stuff Schoey says...but as soon as Schoey's name is mentioned everybody hates him!

I expect its just a legacy of fans who remember him as a player and didn't like him in his playing days....exactly the same as all those non Wigan fans react with disgust at the mention of Shaun Edwards.

He talks rubbish and loves himself. Never a good combination

Well I pretty young when he played but I can see the bitterness towards Wigan oozes out of that man quite clearly. I don't hate him, I pity him.

My advice on the league express is go asda shopping and read it for free. Send the mrs off with the trolly while you read it for free.
