At the game last night a few of us commented on Hicks performance in that at the Wire v Wigan game a couple of weeks ago he penalised anything and everything around the ptb. Last night he didn't. Is it any wonder players and coaches get frustrated when the same ref referees a game so differently in the space of two weeks?

Spot on - I think the biggest thing about the referees at present is the total lack of consistency not just from week to week but even within a game. It is something the RFL need to get a grip of as it is causing so many issues and frustrations.

When it comes to semi finals and finals they just let everything go.

Thought this last night, he clearly allowed the game to flow last night and didn't pick up many instances (for both teams) unlike during the regular season. Not complaining as it made it a very exciting match - possibly the best for us this season.

True enough I thought 2nd half the game was too big and too fast for him , all the officials in the semi's have been very poor

Why didn't the VR call a high tackle when Sarge got hit? The VR reversed a call in the Saints/Wire match for a high shot. Inconsistent.

Bet this is an awkward question, who would you prefer as ref next week.

I was waiting for some whopper to come on with that trash when I saw Tierney clip Hicks as he ran past him.
