Just had word from TRB that something very much worth looking at has hit Wakefield MDC planning portal today... and it is great news...

Plans have been submitted for a 38,764 Sq m (approx 417,000 sq ft) high bay freezer & cold store unit on the Newmarket site.

This is the largest of the units that was proposed on the Outline planning approval.

The rumour is that site preparation and infrastructure works could start as early as September!!!

This look like it everyone, work looks like it is going to start soon and the fact the large unit is in for planning, although the end user is not names in the application, clearly Yorkcourt have someone signed up.

We hope to hear more soon and of course we will post it as soon as we know any more.

£40m build cost.

Projected to create 154 full-time jobs, most of which will probably be local.

Projected to employ the equivalent of 39 full-time jobs during 16 month build.

£18million of the construction costs focused into the local area.

This application will see the new junction to Aberford Road and 75% of the new through road constructed as part of this proposal. It will open up the site for other developments and most importantly, the stadium build.

This is great news and is major step to getting Newmarket built sooner, rather than later... it really now is about 'when will the stadium get built' and not 'will it get built'.
